Gili Islands Wedding | Kristin and Brady | Sunset Beach, Villa, Resort Photography

When school yard friends met up years later neither new it would result in a beautiful love affair.

I enjoyed every minute I spent with Bride and Groom, Kristin and Brady, when I was the wedding photographer and videographer at their ceremony on Gili Trawangan Island, Indonesia.

Their wedding was the result of a chance phone call from Brady to Kristin about 18 months earlier. The Australian couple had known each other at school but lost contact once they left. Kristin was surprised when Brady rang out of the blue one day and the pair agreed to catch up but Kristin expected the meeting wouldn’t happen and didn’t give it any further thought as Brady lived interstate.

Much to Kristin's surprise Brady arrived for their catch up and the love seeds were sown. The couple became inseparable as time passed and Kristin managed to get a promotion with her job and move closer to where Brady lived in Sydney Australia.

Brady wanted to show Kristin a beautiful island paradise in the Lombok Straight not far from Bali and the couple took a brief vacation to the tiny Islet. On a balmy sun drenched afternoon on the beach in front of their hotel they met up with a couple who excitedly told them about their wedding which was to happen on the Island the following day and Kristin and Brady decided that afternoon this is where they would be married. Brady proposed to Kristin shortly after their return to Australia and the plans began for a Gili Trawangan wedding ceremony.

Their wedding ceremony and reception was held at the plush Kokomo Villa Resort on an open air terrace that opens onto a glistening white beach lapped by opal blue waters. Billowing white clouds and gentle seas provided a dream like backdrop for the couples wedding attended by fifty guests.

The romantic wedding ceremony began with Kristin, wearing an elegant and chic wedding dress,  walking down the sandy aisle which was covered in golden yellow flower petals. Friends and family watched on as Kristin and Brady were married and the crowd erupted in applause as the celebrant announced the new husband and wife.

After many hugs and kisses from family and friends I took the couple to have a sunset beach wedding photography session.  Kristin and Brady travelled in a cute horse and cart with decorations for the ten minute ride to the sunset beach. I managed to make some stunning wedding photos for them as the beautiful warm glow of the setting sun drenched the romantic beach scene. As the sun sunk behind the clouds on the horizon we headed back for a night of dancing and fun under the stars. A Gili Trawangan wedding to remember.
